An itemised inventory
Record furniture, cartons and condition. Identify items that require a specific packing or storage assessment.
Plan space between moves around your inventory, storage period and collection or delivery needs.
Household storage can help when your new home is not ready or you need to move in stages. When comparing warehouse storage near you, confirm the actual facility location, inventory, access arrangements, minimum term and collection or redelivery charges.
MATCH THE SERVICE TO THE MOVE
Use the service scope to prepare your enquiry. The final arrangement depends on your belongings and both addresses.
A CLEAR PLAN, STEP BY STEP
Know what to share, what to review and what to prepare.
Send both addresses, your inventory and preferred date. Include access details and items needing special care.
Compare packing, handling, transport, optional work, taxes and payment terms against the same requirements.
Confirm intake, labels, inventory and retrieval arrangements before sending goods to storage.
Check the inventory with the crew, note visible concerns and keep the agreed handover and contact details.
CARE STARTS WITH PREPARATION
Discuss these details with the team so the packing and handling match the items being moved.
Record furniture, cartons and condition. Identify items that require a specific packing or storage assessment.
Use clear carton labels and keep the intake inventory, agreed duration and facility details together.
Ask about suitability, access, restrictions and handling arrangements for your particular belongings.
Confirm notice, partial retrieval, delivery arrangements and related charges before approving storage.
Understand the choices, prepare a useful enquiry and review the written scope for warehousing & storage. Confirm availability for your locations, inventory and dates with Shiftify before booking.
Storage works best when the inventory, likely duration and retrieval needs are planned together. A short gap between homes and a longer stay may need different arrangements.
Separate everyday essentials from goods you can leave packed. Identify documents, clothes, equipment or furniture you may need before the final delivery date, and discuss partial retrieval before packing begins. Label those items clearly if the proposed facility can support the access arrangement you need.
Share an item list, approximate dimensions of large pieces, photographs and any special storage requirements. Ask which items can be accepted and whether the proposed conditions suit them. Confirm the facility location and responsible provider; do not infer security, climate control or unrestricted access from the word “storage”.
Use these points to define the service you need. The accepted tasks, materials and responsibilities should be reflected in your written quotation.
| Priority | Details to agree |
|---|---|
| An inventory before a space estimate | List furniture, appliances, cartons and unusually sized items. Share photographs or measurements where helpful, and identify fragile goods or items needing particular storage conditions for assessment. Agree what can be accepted before arranging pickup. |
| Packing and collection scope | Discuss whether packing, dismantling, collection, loading and transport to storage are included. Record the proposed packing and labelling, the item count and visible condition when the goods are handed over. |
| Duration and access arrangements | Set out the expected start and end dates, billing period and extension terms. Ask how an access visit or partial retrieval is arranged, how much notice is needed and whether handling or transport charges apply. |
| A clear return plan | Agree how to request redelivery or collection, who receives the goods and which unloading or reassembly tasks are included. Ask for the storage, handling and return costs to be explained separately in the written quote. |
Start with the volume of goods and expected storage period. Home-size plans are a budgeting guide; an item list shows what needs space and what must remain accessible.
These are monthly storage estimates. Confirm the accepted inventory, facility, billing period and minimum term. Ask for packing, collection, retrieval, redelivery and applicable taxes to be itemised; a monthly storage amount alone does not describe the full cost of putting goods away and bringing them back.
For example, if you may need a work desk before the rest of the home, identify it before packing. Confirm whether partial retrieval is available, the notice required and its handling cost. If the receiving date is uncertain, ask how the next billing period begins and how to give release notice.
| Contents | Monthly storage from |
|---|---|
| 1 RK | ₹799 |
| 1 BHK | ₹1,299 |
| 2 BHK | ₹3,499 |
| 3 BHK | ₹5,499 |
The storage charge is only one part of the arrangement. A useful quote also explains how goods arrive, how access works and what it will cost to get them back.
Compare the total for your planned return date and a later possession date before choosing an arrangement. Ask whether an earlier collection changes the bill and what event ends storage charges. A monthly price does not establish daily billing or a refund for unused days; use the terms agreed for your booking.
Build two totals from the accepted quote: one for the planned stay and one with an extra billing period. Include packing and collection, storage for the agreed quantity, any planned retrieval, final redelivery, agreed reassembly and taxes. Use the quoted minimum term and rounding rules in both totals. This shows what a delayed possession date would change before you commit.
| Part of the plan | Details to confirm |
|---|---|
| Storage charge | Basis of the charge, billing period, minimum term and extension procedure. |
| Measured quantity | Box size, floor area or volume used for billing; who measures it and how a revised quantity is approved. |
| Collection | Packing, dismantling, transport, unloading, labelling and inventory recording. |
| Access | Notice needed for visits or partial retrieval, handling work and any additional charges. |
| Facility and responsibility | Accepted goods, conditions, responsible provider and any protection offered. |
| Exit and redelivery | Notice, outstanding charges, return transport, unloading and agreed reassembly. |
Use labelled packages, an item list and condition photographs that remain understandable after the move is no longer fresh in your memory.
Share the delivery address and access details early, then confirm the notice, timing and remaining work before asking for the goods to be released.
A different delivery address or changed inventory can alter the return scope. Ask for an updated quote where needed and nominate the person who will receive the goods. At delivery, reconcile the package numbers and furniture list with your original record, photograph concerns and record any missing items or unfinished reassembly. Keep the storage and transport documents together for follow-up.
Send a release request with your booking reference, package or furniture numbers, full or partial return, requested date, delivery address and receiving contact. Obtain confirmation of availability, notice requirements, charges and the delivery slot before arranging access. For an accepted partial return, request an updated list of goods still in storage and confirmation of whether the ongoing charge changes.
